Measure is dedicated to empowering Black, Brown, and Indigenous-led organizations in developing impactful, community-driven solutions. Recognizing the unique needs and challenges faced by these communities, our program offers a $25,000 in-kind grant and a $1,000 participant stipend for comprehensive support with the Measure CARE ModelĀ© to enhance their capacity to measure impact, share success stories, and attract sustainable funding.

Organization Eligibility

Our Free Data Support Grants are awarded through an open application process.
To be eligible, your organization must:

  1. Operate locally and directly benefit Black, Brown, or Indigenous communities.
  2. Be Black, Brown, or Indigenous-led (e.g., the Executive Director is and/or board are mostly Black, Brown, or Indigenous individuals).
  3. Have a Measure Ignite account. Only admin users of the organizationā€™s Measure Ignite account may apply.
  4. Have an annual operating budget of less than $500,000.
  5. Meet one of following criteria:
    • Hold a current tax-exempt status as a public charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, listed on the IRS Master File, conducting activities within the United States, and classified as a public charity under Section 509(a)(1), (2), or (3) (Types I or II).
    • Be a charter school, community/junior college, state/private college or university, or faith-based organization with a proposed project that serves the broader community (e.g. food pantries, soup kitchens, clothing closets).
    • Be a grassroots organization that actively engages and serves the community through impactful projects and initiatives.

Program Guidelines

Organizations must follow these key guidelines for applying to our grant program:

  • Organizations may submit only one application per calendar year. If approved for a grant, organizations cannot apply again in the same calendar year the grant was awarded.
  • If selected, your organization must provide a W9 and banking information for grant approval. The participant stipend will be disbursed via direct deposit.
  • If approved, grant funds will be directly applied to the organization’s invoice for services. The $1,000 participant stipend will be distributed in two payments of $500 on March 15th and June 15th via direct deposit.ā€Ø

Note:Ā For-profit entities, such as corporations and small businesses, including Black, Brown, and/or Indigenous-owned, are not eligible at this time.

Selection and Approval Process

  • Submitting an application does not guarantee a grant award.
  • Measure’s research and executive teams will review all completed applications and make initial project recommendations.
  • Selected applicants will be invited for interviews. After the interview, the research team will make the final decision on the award.
  • All organizations will be notified of decisions via email.
